Contemplating the Sea and Skies (working title) – Work in progress

This series is inspired by the direct surroundings of the studio and home of the artist, the sea and the skies of the North Sea in Scheveningen (NL). Each day Robert is struck by the different appearances and states of mind of the sea and the skies. It is as if these changing states of mind reflect the states of being of people.

Robert experiences the sea and the skies as a connection between himself and the spiritual world and is interested in how we can relate to these beautiful elements of nature.

He experiences looking at the sea and the skies as moments and space for contemplating, slowing down and finding silence. In this series, Robert aims to create works that reflect both his personal experience and reflections on the sea and skies, while also celebrating the extraordinary beauty of these visual impressions.
