About the Early Works
The early artworks of Van de Graaf are of great importance for him as these artworks have his natural personal style of painting and drawing. The information how he painted when he was 13 years of age still is very important for his current style.
From the age of 13 till his 18th he followed a private painting and drawing education by the Dutch artist, Erica Meyster. In 2001 he began to study Architecture at the Technical University in Delft. He graduated in 2009 as MSc in Architecture.
After working two years as an architect he realized he couldn't be an architect, because he is an artist in his being and soul. In 2011 he made his career switch and started to work as an visual artist, back to his roots.
Robert puts it like this; "I found and got back what I lost, more clearly in every way. That is my greatest blessing ever."
